Body Corporate Responsibilities For Cleaning Ventilation Systems.
Many apartment buildings have never had their ventilation systems deep-cleaned. Some systems haven’t been cleaned in over 25+ years.

Ventilation systems must provide adequate air-changes in wet areas and rooms without opening windows.
BCCM Guidance (Utility Infrastructure update 20/12/22) refers:
Regular inspections must be carried out and any build-up removed that has accumulated over time.
Exhaust ventilation systems must be cleaned as part of essential maintenance.
The World Health Organisation supports the right to healthy indoor air. A comfortable indoor environment requires more than surface-level cleanliness – it demands a maintenance program that removes risk.
